Give every provider the same recent data set: orders, active SKUs, units per order, stock volume, packed weight and dimensions, destination mix, returns and peak month. A lower-looking fee based on different assumptions is not a lower total cost.

2. Separate inbound, storage and recurring fulfilment
Inbound receiving may be priced by delivery, pallet, carton, unit or time. Storage can depend on pallet positions, shelves, bins, cubic volume or occupied days. Order preparation may combine a base order fee, additional picks, packaging and defined quality checks. These units must be visible in the proposal.

3. Keep carrier cost outside the handling headline
Transport reacts to final weight, volumetric weight, destination, service level, surcharges and failed delivery. CTT's published logistics tariff also separates storage, preparation and distribution and makes final destination, weight and number of references part of the calculation.
4. Add the costs that disappear from simple comparisons
Returns, stock counts, relabelling, kitting, inserts, custom packaging, photography, disposal, blocked stock, peak capacity, account work and integration changes can materially affect the month. Ask which are included, separately priced or subject to a minimum.

5. Calculate total cost per dispatched order
Use the same formula for each proposal: total monthly fulfilment expense divided by dispatched orders. Also review cost per parcel and fulfilment cost as a percentage of net sales. Shopify's current cost guide treats receiving, storage, packaging, shipping, software, labour, returns and additional work as part of the complete picture.
6. Ask Shopogolic Portugal for a scoped model, not a generic number
A useful Shopogolic Portugal proposal starts from real products, order families, stock, destinations and required controls. The operating scope then separates recurring warehouse work, exceptional services and carrier charges so the commercial team can explain what changes the price.
How much does fulfilment cost per order in Portugal?
There is no responsible universal figure. Product size, order lines, packaging, monthly volume, destination mix, returns, storage profile and service level all change the total. Compare one identical operating scenario across providers.
What should a fulfilment quote include?
At minimum: inbound, storage, pick and pack, additional units or lines, packaging, carrier charges, returns, value-added work, minimums, setup or integration and applicable VAT.
Should transport be included in the pick-and-pack price?
It may appear in a bundled tariff, but the carrier component and its assumptions should remain visible because weight, dimensions, destination and surcharges change independently of warehouse handling.
What data does Shopogolic Portugal need to prepare a quote?
Recent monthly and peak orders, SKUs, units per order, stock volume, product dimensions, packed parcel profiles, destinations, returns and any labelling, kitting or quality-control requirements.
